Where the Idea Came From
The story behind Purifying Treatment starts with a moment of inspiration for founder Dr. Guðrún Marteinsdóttir (Rúna), a professor at the University of Iceland. Watching Memoirs of a Geisha, she found herself captivated by the lead actress’s flawless, luminous skin — and started wondering whether that same effect could be achieved honestly: through safe, natural bioactive compounds alone, with “no makeup and no toxic chemicals,” as she’s put it, rather than fillers or synthetic color correction.
That question sent her deep into seaweed research, where she eventually identified two specific kelp species with genuinely remarkable skin-smoothing and collagen-supporting properties — capable of producing a firmer, more lifted look along with a more even texture and tone. Combined with rich organic oils and a skin-conditioning ester, that research became Purifying Treatment.
What the Independent Testing Found
Purifying Treatment’s effectiveness was evaluated by Dermscan, an independent French testing laboratory. In that study, 35 women aged 45–65 applied the treatment to their facial skin twice daily for 84 days. The results were measured, not just observed:
