A Month of Nothing, Then a Real Change: What 60 Days Did for Forehead Folds

Forehead folds are stubborn. They’re not fine lines you can smooth over with a good moisturizer — they’re deeper creases, the kind that form from decades of expression and a slow loss of structural support underneath. So when we set out to measure whether our products could actually soften them, we didn’t expect a quick win. We were right not to.

The Results, In Plain English
By day 60, the average forehead fold score had dropped by 7.3 points — and three out of four participants (76%) saw real improvement, tracked the same way, on the same professional imaging device, for every person in the study.
But here’s the part we think matters more than the headline number: for the first month, almost nothing happened. Scores barely moved at day 18 or day 30. Then, between day 30 and day 60, the change showed up — clearly enough to be statistically significant, not just a lucky-looking average.

Mean forehead fold index across the study (n = 25). Little movement for the first month, then a real drop by day 60.

Why We’re Telling You About the Boring Part First
It would be easy to lead with “76% of people improved” and leave it there. But we think the flat first month is the more honest, more interesting story.
A lot of skincare marketing implies results should be visible fast, or they’re not real. Forehead folds didn’t play along with that expectation, and we’re not going to pretend they did. For a full month, the data showed essentially no change. Then, in the second month, the structural work caught up, and the improvement was real enough to hold up statistically, not just look good in an average. That kind of pattern, quiet for a while, then a genuine shift, is what we’d expect to see if a product is actually supporting the skin’s deeper structure, rather than doing something cosmetic and temporary on the surface. Deep folds don’t relax because of a light surface treatment. They relax, if they relax at all, because the collagen and elastin underneath them are being rebuilt.

Why Structural Ingredients Are the Whole Point Here
This is exactly the kind of result our formulation philosophy is built around. Icelandic winged kelp, used across the products in this study, is included in all products specifically because it’s been shown in our own published research to inhibit the enzymes that break down collagen and elastin, the structural proteins that keep skin firm and resistant to deep creasing in the first place. Icelandic angelica archangelica works alongside it, supporting collagen and elastin synthesis directly.

The routine behind these numbers used three products together — Serum, Day Treatment, and Purifying Treatment — so we can’t isolate exactly how much each one contributed on its own. But based on what each formula is actually built to do, two of them are doing most of the structural work behind a result like this.

Day Treatment is formulated to soften skin while building elasticity in the supportive tissue underneath it, the layer that determines whether a fold sits deep and fixed, or gradually relaxes. That’s a slower, structural kind of change, not a surface-smoothing effect, which lines up with why nothing showed on the chart for the first month and then a real shift appeared by day 60.

The Serum is built around the same collagen-protecting winged kelp, paired with a moisturizing boost that helps keep the surrounding tissue well-hydrated while that structural work happens underneath. Think of Day Treatment as reworking the scaffolding, and Serum as feeding and hydrating it while that happens, collagen support and moisture, working together rather than in sequence.

Purifying Treatment rounds out the routine, but the elasticity-building and collagen-and-moisture work of Day Treatment and Serum is where we’d point to first if you’re trying to understand what’s actually behind a change like this one.

The routine behind these numbers was simple and consistent: Serum first, Day Treatment on top, Purifying Treatment worked into the regimen. No extra steps, no shortcuts — just the same three products, used every day, for two months straight.
